Dallas Chevrolet dealer, Classic Chevrolet, can’t wait to start start selling the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze and Chevrolet Volt. There is a lot of hype surrounding these two vehicles, and for good reason.

Chevrolet Cruze in Dallas

The 2011 Chevrolet Cruze is a small sedan that comes in three main trim levels: LS, LT and LTZ. An Eco version of the LS will also be available.

The LS is built with a 1.8L inline-4 engine that produces  . The LS includes 16-inch steel wheels, OnStar, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, air-conditioning, an eight-way (manual) adjustable driver seat, a 60/40-split rear seat, a trip computer, full power accessories and a six-speaker stereo with a CD/MP3 player, satellite radio and an auxiliary audio jack. The LS Eco is optimized for maximum fuel efficiency with aerodynamic improvements, low-rolling-resistance tires and a version of the turbocharged engine.

The LT offers a turbocharged 1.4L inline-4 engine that produces 138 hp. The LT is actually comprised of 1LT and 2LT subsets. The 1LT comes with a turbocharged engine, chrome wheel covers, color-keyed power sideview mirrors, floor mats and a one-touch-up driver’s window. The 2LT adds alloy wheels, remote vehicle start, cruise control, leather upholstery, heated front seats, a six-way power driver seat, steering-wheel-mounted audio controls, a USB/iPod port for the audio system and Bluetooth.

The Cruze LTZ also offers a turbocharged 1.4L inline-4 engine. The LTZ adds 18-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, illuminated vanity mirrors, rear park assist, a sport-tuned suspension and four-wheel disc brakes.

Many of the upper trims’ standard features can be had on lower trims via à la carte options or packages. A navigation system, a sunroof and an RS appearance package (unique front/rear fascias, foglights, rear spoiler) are all available on the upper trims.

Safety

All 2011 Chevrolet Cruze models have a notable 10 airbags. The Cruze comes with stability control, antilock brakes, full-length side curtain airbags, front knee airbags and front and rear side impact airbags as standard. All trims save the LTZ have a front-disc/rear-drum brake setup; the LTZ upgrades to four-wheel disc brakes.

Interior Design and Special Features

The Cruze’s “twin cockpit” interior design and two-tone color schemes deliver an upscale ambience. The front seats offer support and comfort. Drivers of all sizes should be able to find a satisfactory seating position with steering wheel tilts and telescopes. An above average feature on the Cruze, is the impressively larg trunk, which measures a whopping 15 cubic feet. Most cars in this class offer a trunk measuring 12 cubic feet.

Chevrolet Volt in Dallas

The 2011 Chevrolet Volt is a midsize five-door hatchback sedan with seating for four. The front-wheel-drive 2011 Volt is powered by an electric motor rated at 149 hp. This motor draws power from a lithium-ion battery pack until the battery charge is 70 percent depleted. At that point, the Volt’s 1.4-liter four-cylinder internal combustion engine, which runs on either gasoline or E85, comes to life as a replacement power source for the electric motor.

Standard features include 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, heated mirrors, keyless ignition, remote ignition, automatic climate control, cruise control, auto-dimming rearview mirror, six-way manual front seats, tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, cloth upholstery, Bluetooth, OnStar, a navigation system with touchscreen, voice controls and real-time traffic, and a six-speaker Bose stereo with CD/DVD player, auxiliary audio jack, iPod/USB interface and 30GB of digital music storage.

The Premium Trim package adds leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and heated front seats. The Rear Camera and Park Assist package adds a rearview camera and front and rear parking sensors.

Safety

Safety features on the 2011 Chevy Volt include antilock brakes, stability control, front side airbags, front knee airbags and full-length side curtain airbags.

Interior Design and Special Features

The 2011 Chevrolet Volt’s distinctive center stack appears to have been modeled after various personal electronic devices with touch-sensitive buttons. There is a very technological look and a host of technological features. A standard color display with a built-in hard drive greets the driver and the main controls are intuitive and easy to read. The Cruze also features a “ball” that informs the driver of how fuel-efficient they are driving. It is big and green while conserving fuel or battery energy and smaller and angry orange when not.

Dallas GMC dealer, Jerry’s GMC has some Terrain news for Texas GMC shoppers. The GMC Terrain is selling very fast, and mostly to women!

General Motors announced that GMC Terrain sales are continuing at a rapid pace as it enters its second model year. GM said that in the first seven months of 2010, the Terrain has consistently taken a speedy 13 days to turn on dealer lots. The rest of the compact SUV segment usually takes 28 days and  51 days for all vehicles.

“We’ve had an outstanding response to the Terrain since it launched last Fall,” said Lisa Hutchinson, GMC Product Marketing Director. “The Terrain is attracting new buyers to the brand who are looking for an SUV that offers fuel economy, exterior and interior styling, quality and safety that maintain GMC’s reputation for engineering excellence.”

GM also said that the Terrain appeals to women more than any other GMC product, which is pretty obvious since GMC is not really known for making female oriented vehicles. Approximately 46 percent of buyers of the Terrain are women, which is more than 20 percentage points higher than the overall brand.

The GMC Terrain comes standard with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine producing 182 horsepower. Optional on all but the SLE-1 is a 3.0-liter V6 good for 264 hp. Both engines come standard with a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel-drive; all-wheel drive is optional across the board.  The 2010 GMC Terrain comes standard with antilock disc brakes, stability control, front seat side airbags, side curtain airbags and OnStar.
